Heartless Company - will let you go with a moment's notice

The only pro was the colleagues in my local branch where there was a great atmosphere created by the store manager.
Cons
Wren do not care about staff and keep people on a long probationary period so they can drop you at a moment's notice. They have just removed all receptionists from their stores but only gave us a week's notice which is not enough to secure your next position & ensure you can pay your bills at the end of the month. This was obviously a tactical decision, not an emergency, so they could have provided longer notice period if they cared about people. Unfortunately staff are just a disposable number to them. I knew they let go of lots of staff at the start of Covid, however to let go of every receptionist and a lot of sales staff with just a week's notice to improve their bottom line is awful. I was let go at the start of April and have only just received the official paperwork which was written after this date and received over a week later. The letter is completely impersonal & includes nothing along the lines of 'thanks for your service'. It wouldn't have taken someone long to write an extra sentence since they have removed staff in bulk, but they don't care. PS. Last year Wren sent out an incentive to win money for a store night out if we left a review about how great they are to work for. Despite the offer of cash, as far as I'm aware, hardly anyone completed it as they didn't want to recommend working here!
