Pros

Range of machinery to work on. Mainly a good set of lads

Cons

Complete disappointment of what I thought could be a very good company to work for when I first started. I quickly realised the higher management (above eng manager) didn’t have a clue what they were doing in regards to Engineering yet their say is final. In my time there 3 very talented engineers were fired on the spot, and still to this day none of them know the reason and were told “failed probationary period” even though they were hard working, smart guys going above and beyond for the company. The team are constantly put under massive pressure to complete schedules and reduce breakdown times without any training on brand new machinery, whilst being understaffed. Management refuse to pay a higher salary therefore are only attracting inexperienced and/or useless lads..thought that would be obvious to those incredible clever directors. All in all, I’ve never worked anywhere where the team is so morally deflated. No wonder the place is going downhill before it’s even really got going.

Pros

Good pay Owner and his sons are very nice people

Cons

Always felt threatened with losing your job. Very long working hours, can not claim time back. Lie to customers - forget any promotions, give the customer any price you want! - "Take them out of the market". Tell customers they can't have a refund for 28 days, when it can be done on the spot. The reason for this is it affects managers bonuses. Tell customers to sign the sign-off sheet when the kitchen hasn't been fully installed or else they cannot deal with any issues. Wrong. The fitters don't get paid if the sheet is not signed. If you worked for Phones-4-U, you've got a job! No kitchen experience required! Get rid of the ex Phones-4-U people and have kitchen experts back in the business like when the Company first started. Even the MD left - he was all about customer service. Employed 200 extra staff at head office to deal with customer service issues. Don't pay fitters on time. Daily conference calls/micro-managing High staff turnover

Pros

No training required. As long as you can push the customers to buy you can earn some commission but be aware if you don't have the experience to get it right you will pay for it as there is no one to support you, your customer will also hate you and be left in a mess.

Cons

No support , bad communication, unprofessional, micro management, bullies, favouritism, you will have your earnings taken from you for mistakes that may not even be you fault. You will be asked to work more hours than you will be paid for and unreasonable pressure put on you on a daily basis.
