Pros

Pay isn't bad. Everything provided. IT and head office support impressive. Booming sales, despite lockdown. Although lots of sales are on long term credit so makes you wonder how secure the future is if we face further recession.

Cons

Hours are shocking: who really wants someone in their house at 10 pm measuring up or on a Sunday afternoon? Some stores have a bad attitude and can be disrespectful to some customers and colleagues. Hard selling is allowed; it is truly embarrassing to overhear colleagues pestering potential customers and leads...quality products should never need such hard sell tactics! They say they factor in your commute time to measurement appointments but, in reality, you'll find yourself spending several hours per week traveling to and from appointments in your own time. Although they provide PPE for Covid protection, they expect you to sit out your time waiting for appointments in the stores. When the rule is - "work from home, when possible" why have additional people hanging around stores, increasing the risk of spreading the virus? I get that they want to check for skiving/work dodging but surely not at a risk to others!?

Pros

Very limited is the honest answer once you pass probation. The tech used by Wren is first class, the showrooms are immaculate and market leading and the academy at the head office is on another level all together. The pay as a designer is worth it.

Cons

How long can the list go ... - Long working hours - Showrooms are only entitled to 2 members of management, when 1 is on annual leave, you're instantly forced to work in excess of 70-80 hours per week with no additional benefit, pay or senior management support. - Pay in general as a manager is too little - AGM will realistically take home less than £25k. - Not enough time invested in the showroom or team as a manager because you're too busy fighting fires with endless complaints, spreadsheets, conference calls, paperwork or any other issue which doesn't warrant the pay. - No work life balance! You'll be passed from pillar to post with no regard for your physical or mental health, your own welfare, your friend or your family! Your 2 days off will be spent recovering from your week which means you're missing out on life. Also forced to work 2 weeks straight from BOXING DAY! Sometimes until 10pm, maybe even midnight if you're with a customer! Yes .... it does happen!
