Worst Company I've Ever Worked For

Pros

If you are an investor they are great as the share price is way up, but be sure to read into annual reports. Its not sustainable over the long term.

Cons

After merger with our company, they cleaned house regardless of talent and ability. They imposed 11 page non-compete agreements on Senior and Mid-level managers without any opportunity to make changes. The agreement was very restrictive. Work-life balance was terrible. Sr. Leadership at CEO level was visionary, but the strategy was to gut and pare to improve stock price and not likely to foster long-term positive customer relationships. Did not value employee contributions.

Pros

Much of the Con-way compensation is still in place (for now) but you can already see that changing. Not much else....

Cons

No respect, especially for tenured salary positions. Just look at the salary ranges being offered which are in many cases $20K less than previous person. It's all about XPO's image as they believe knowledge and experience can be bought for less. Be leery of overtly positives review of company as CEO sent emails to specific employees asking for "positive reviews on Glassdoor to counter negative reviews." He is not in touch or chooses not to listen to what is happening throughout the network. Very sad to see what is happening to good, knowledgeable employees. They culture has changed and is getting downright poisonous.

High Stress Environment

Pros

Loyal employees and great location

Cons

If you like a high stress environment and work 80 hours a week, this is the place for you. Good projects but management doesn't know how to staff their projects nor treat their employees. You are always wearing multiple hats. On a single project, I've seen one person be a PM, BA, QA, Dev, UX, and Training because of understaffing, underperforming team members, and poor planning. They will overwork you and burn you out fast. Force you to work weekends, vacations, and holidays. Also, they underpay by 10-25%. It's only got worst with the XPO merger. Higher stress, cuts in health, and vacation benefits, no annual pay increases.
