Awesome company to work for but do more research about benefits

Pros

FieldEdge is a fast growing company with lots of potential. Leadership is really good about promoting from within into other areas of the company if your current role is not the best fit for your talents or if you are in an entry-level role. Unlimited PTO policy (most managers are good about letting employees use this benefit, but there are some who will make you feel guilty for requesting time off).

Cons

- Company is growing fast and with that come the growing pains of figuring things out on the fly and having gaps in processes/things falling through the cracks/product not being being able to keep up with the promises delivered in sales, etc. (but this provides an opportunity for lots of growth/learning at the same time) - Sales department is closing a lot of deals but Implementation, Customer Success and Product, Data teams are not growing fast enough to keep up with the work load - Salary is below industry average - Healthcare/dental are expensive with high deductibles (FieldEdge doesn't offer fully covered healthcare benefits like a lot of tech companies do. They used to but took this benefit away last year) - No flex time; most teams have to be at work 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., which are the worst traffic times in Atlanta - Work from home is allowed only when something happens (sick, appointment, etc) - No paid maternity leave - Catered lunches went down to once a month - Snacks are provided but most of them are very unhealthy (energy drinks, chips, cheez its, dorritos, etc).

Xplor Technologies Response
6y
We recognize employees are our number one asset; therefore, we value the personal and professional growth of our team members. This past year, we promoted 64 employees and internally transferred 38 employees to new roles to build on their strengths. We look forward to continue this internal growth. FieldEdge is a fast growing company, more than doubling in size in the last two years. With this growth comes pain points but that is to be expected. There have been some changes we have had to make to ensure we are scaling our business. While some of these changes have impacted the employee benefits, we still strive to provide attractive and competitive benefit offerings. Our Unlimited PTO Policy has been a favorite of employees. We had received feedback that not all departments were handling this fairly so we have addressed this in our revised Flexible Time Off Policy. The revised policy includes a minimum of 10 days off per year requirement to ensure everyone is taking time to recharge their batteries. This policy also provides the opportunity to use paid time off toward maternity leave in additional to Short Term Disability benefits paid for by the company. We make an honest effort to monitor industry and market wages to ensure we are remaining fair and competitive. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Your feedback will be helpful for us to look at areas we should be focusing on improving. Brielle Ware Sr. Human Resources Manager

Sinking ship

Pros

Young and vibrant staff, good office location, and (occasional) events.

Cons

Fundamentally the product is faulty. The sales team over-promise, which is understandable because their targets are unreachable. This means the support team cops the brunt of the abuse from unsatisfied customers. Sales are rare and commissions are rarer for the team. Salepeople are encouraged to work harder not smarter. No training was given to most team members. Most good coders spend six months here before finding better jobs. The CTO left because he couldn't deal with the CEO any longer, there are been almost no technical leadership since. The CEO promises about making education great but his product is full of bugs, and hasn't changed anything. The market is too competitive and I don't expect Xplor to be around in 2 years.

Pros

I am sure it is in pretty much every review for this company but it is worth saying again and again. The culture here is absolutely amazing! The people that work here are people I would be friends with outside of work. In fact a lot of them I do spend time with outside of work. Other place I have worked the vast majority of people count down the minutes til they can rush out the door at the end of the day. So many people here are here after hours not only working but just hanging out or making plans to go out together after we get done.

Cons

As we continue to grow to meet the needs that our progressing company needs, I feel like we are transitioning from a smaller close knit company with a very everyone is family feel to something much larger. While it might not have that exact same feel I still think we retain that feel as much as is possible. With as large as we have gotten is is simply not possible to hold on to that small close family company feel.
