Needs a HR & Culture makeover

Pros

Xplor is very remote-friendly, and the team is always open to trying new things if its trendy or team members want to do it. The people are earnestly trying to change things for the better. Most people you work with are great to collaborate with. The benefits are pretty good, and there are opportunities to learn more & advance in your career.

Cons

This company preaches a lot about supporting their team members, but when it comes time to show up, they don't deliver — at all. Management seems like they've been pulled in several different directions, and can't give their team members direction because of it. Something has happened between big changes with new mergers and acquisitions, and Xplor has lost its magic. You can tell by the lack of morale.

We also agree with you that Xplor is made up of great people who are wonderful to collaborate with, and we’re glad you enjoyed that part of being at Xpor. We’re sorry to hear there are aspects of working at Xplor that you didn’t enjoy though, and we’ve passed on this feedback. We know our leaders have an important role to play in creating a great experience for all our Xplorers. That’s why we introduced a new leadership development program this year, making sure all our leaders have the skills and resources they need to support their teams. We also introduced a new performance management process called Xplor GPS, where leaders have regular 1:1s and check-ins with their people, so everyone understands how their work and goals align with our wider business objectives, the direction we’re heading and what’s expected of them. We’re also proud of what we’ve achieved with our Inclusion Ignites Innovation D&I strategy, but we know there’s always more work to do. Cons

I resigned from the Melbourne engineering team because I disapproved of the "Junior" leadership. They were just juniors in people, vision and executions.

Pros

Decent office premises and infrastructure.

Cons

Heavy office politics: Outdated management style: HR and Admin operate with a rigid, old school mindset instead of the employee friendly culture you had expect from a product based company. Zero appreciation / rewards: No monthly or quarterly performance awards to keep the team motivated. No festive perks: They completely skip standard perks like Diwali gifts or annual employee tokens / service anniversary / birthday. Lack of transparency: Decisions and appraisals feel arbitrary and driven by management circles rather than actual merit.
