Pros

Office is clean, most of the folks there are up front and kind.

Cons

The Manager is not a good leader. The schedules are unrealistic. There is a click you can't get into.

Pros

-Company Truck -Laptop -Cell Phone -Ability to work from home as needed

Cons

-Sales software (Salesforce) isn’t user friendly, nor does it work for a rental company that just happens to do sales -The branch manager at my location might as well have been non existent -Your inside team will mess up almost all of your contracts -Inside team will also make you do everything; for example, call all your vendors to get your pricing, do your own PO’s, schedule your service personnel, etc. -Branch manager and Inside team (again my location specifically) wouldn’t answer your emails in a reasonable time leading to customers getting frustrated and pissed off. -You are constantly told to pick up your phone and call people to get help, but you couldn’t even get them on the phone cause they’re other “meetings”. Bad enough you can’t get them to respond to an email, now you can’t get them on the phone. -You’re sales # goals are going to astronomical and when you ask for them to explain how they got to that # the answer you’ll get is “well I can’t ask so and so to do more than they should” instead of being given an honest answer. -The above bullet leads to this, don’t expect your Regional Sales Manager to know your territory or your business. The company has these guys spread so thin that they have 100 million other things to do and YOU are not a top priority. I could go on and on with how bad this company is in such disarray. It’s a shame because when I started it was such easy times. This corporate mentality now is losing this company business left and right, and when OSR’s explain the issues they see you get shunned or ignored.

Pros

I very much liked working at Xylem. I was in the Sensus division that was acquired by Xylem at some point. They have on-premises tech but at the time were in the early stages of migrating to the cloud. It was fun to be a part of. As the title suggests, the benefits were great and pay was fair, although nothing amazing. Benefits include a really awesome tuition reimbursement package.

Cons

The biggest downside to my position and I imagine many other positions - it requires being on-call quite often, which can really hurt your personal life. When I was on call I got called quite frequently. Got paid a bonus for doing on-call, but it was still a real bummer.
