Stay away from xyratex side of Seagate

Pros

None. There is literally no pros that I can think of.

Cons

Delays... Xyratex team gives out commit dates as if the commit dates mean nothing. Commit dates are Moving target. Worst & unprofessional. Seagate will be better of spinning off xyratex. The whole xyratex business runs off escalations.

Pros

Opportunity to create semblance of order out of chaos. Lots of low hanging fruit to pick. Easy to be a star amidst glaring mediocrity. UK full of dim bulbs.

Cons

No regard for employees outside the UK. Lots of L1's sent to the US from the UK who were far less qualified or educated than the Americans (total immigration fraud). Blatant violation of employment laws, e.g., keeping temps for over 2 years and many up to 5. Lousy technologists. Incompetent upper management.

Pros

Good benifits if they allow you to use them. Good 401K but no matching from the company, used to have ESPP.

Cons

Current management makes it difficult to perform when they lock them selves away and only come out when it is absoluly necessarry. Management by intimidation.
