      Pros

      Zero cost benefits, plenty of people happy to help new hires, variety of driving positions, new equipment trickling in, job security ( not able to fire people unjustifiably). Not a private vs.drill sergeant place like one big competitor I worked for.

      Cons

      Home/Work life balance is definitely work priority. If you don't like the established way, best to get over it. Transfer to new city( if it is advantageous) can happen if terminals become unprofitable.

      Pros

      it's like boot camp, if you can make it through the first year you can take those skills somewhere else where you will enjoy the work and company.

      Cons

      being I non-union employee I found it hard to reason with many union workers and their own representatives (who talked to them like they were kids). I liked the fact that you had to hustle, but you barely had a chance to sit down and take a 10 minute lunch break.
