Pros

A steady paycheck and getting driving time, and good benefits from what I recalled.

Cons

1. 15% on your pay goes back to the company to keep them from going bankrupt. 2. The pension through the union is not secured, which means there may not be one in the coming years. 3. Insufficient training of newly hired drivers as to being taught the differences between double and single axle tractors as to their purpose, why you have to slide the fifth wheel on a tractor and how to do it, getting continuous practice backing up trailers, and knowing how to do a log book right by certain drivers who simply didn't want to do their jobs in properly teaching that. 4. If you want to transfer from Line Haul, or from the yard, to the City(pick up and delivery) you lose your seniority within the same terminal. 5. If you want to apply for the position of Yard Jockey, there's is literally no way of doing so on the yrc website because it's not listed. 6. Having to keep bidding for a schedule even if you have no chance with someone with seniority while understandable for why that is, but nevertheless can be inconvenient. 7. Having to start out "on-Call" 24/7 while again understandable, but misleading as to whether it's mandatory or optional because they ask you if you want to not just inform you that it's required and can be held against you regardless of your reasons if can't come in which they don't tell you. 8. Most of the equipment used was sub-standard and not very reliable when in need of them. 9. If you're hired for a position, you may not get any notification through e-mail or any other form of correspondence on how to proceed next. 10. Finally, if you have been fired and let go you won't ever will be told for why by anyone believing you're still made to think you're still "On-Call".

Pros

Health benefits , union backing ,

Cons

Forced dispatch , dispatchers expect new hires to know everything on day one , supervisors have no leniency on new drivers , if you make a mistake or take too long to get to destination in the 30 day probation you are fired,!! And good luck getting that final check anytime soon
