Pros

Private Company - They follow traditional business practices opposed to modern cost cutting methods. They put employee comfort first, and always seemed to lean on the 'employee side' of things. It makes their travel and marketing budges incredibly inflated, but thats not really our problem. The decisions are made by real people, not numbers and investor boards.

Cons

You will not make a difference. If you are a hungry ambitious entrepreneur type, you will not be satisfied here. Get ready for a three year climb to a decent platform, and a 10 year run to be a decision maker, but in the long run, thats not the end of the world. Show up, work comfortably, enjoy job security.

Pros

Employees are friendly, management does work hard to promote friendly culture and values. Top management seems to acknowledge some employees work, if you work for the right part of the business. They offer health benefits, 401k, and small Christmas bonus.

Cons

Pay is low and there are not many opportunities move up. Management groups work in a vacuum and do not see how they can work together. This makes for very inefficient processes and lack of communication. Very little ability to work from home when kids are sick or in bad weather so forced to use vacation time. I have seen high turn-over in my location due to high-stess and lack of management acknowledgment of the above issues as well as low replacement hire rates mean that employees staying with the company get more work piled on them.
