Management in the laboratory is extremely hostile, you never know if you will be the target on any given day. Nepotism prevents any actionable changes from occurring to help with this. When they decide they're done with you they'll do anything they can to get rid of you - multiple instances of a manager doing as much work as possible in a 24 hour period to allow them to "lay off due to lack of work". Save yourself the mental torture and steer clear of this place. Myself and others have been yelled at in meetings, accused of things that never happened, and they claim they love feedback and ideas but the second you speak your mind you're on the short list out the door.

The management team is stuck in the 1960's. They have no respect for their employees, yet at the same time they allow other employees who should have been long gone to remain working there even though they no longer contribute to the success of the company. The reasoning is 'because they've always worked here!' It is very demotivating to do one's job when there are so many others who basically occupy space and get treated better than you do.
