Pros

Great cross functional teams, entrepreneurial culture, challenging rewarding work, strong leadership team

Cons

It's not easy, you need to work hard and lead. There are very strong leaders and you need to match the pace. These are not negatives, if you're cut from this fabric, you'll be successful and happy.

Pros

Great employees Product direction strongest it's been in some time Flexibility Financial discipline It's no secret the company has gone through changes over the last year or so. Between mergers, acquisitions, team changes, new offices and much more, it can feel like you're standing on unstable ground. I'd argue this a good thing. To see success at Zift, you need to stay sharp, be flexible to change, and excel at your job. In the past, the company had employees that weren't pulling their weight, and in a large, distributed workforce, it can be easy to hide that fact. A lot of that fat has been trimmed, and teams are starting to work in lockstep. Zift promotes a "if you want it, do it" attitude. Don't wait for someone to reach out and ask you to do it, don't brush it under the rug and assume someone else will do it. If you're not proactive in your work, you're not going to succeed in the new and improved Zift. The company has a large amount of financial discipline, which is increasingly important in the tech world. I've been apart of several startups with loose wallets, and while it's fun at the time, it almost never leads to long-term success. I love a good office party, kegerator, free lunch, free Uber rides, etc., but I like a company that understands that financial discipline keeps companies alive much more. The last pro I want to dig into is workplace flexibility. Life happens, and in my experience, leadership understands and accepts that. I know that if I need a day off for mental health, or I want to work from home because I've got a doctors appointment near my house, my boss will understand.

Cons

Zift's workforce is distributed across several global offices, and it's easy to feel a bit separated from other teams, or even team members. The company is going through growing pains. This is normal, and hardly a true con. It just needs to be emphasized. Better insight into Sales' performance company-wide would be appreciated. While I have a large amount of insight into this, I've heard complaints from other teams. Career trajectory is somewhat hazy at the moment.

Pros

Great technology, smart people, always pushing the bounds of what’s new Friendly co-workers, management listens to your concerns and acts on them A lot of autonomy, you have room to do what you think is best for the company, and are recognized for that Pretty good emphasis on work-life balance, maybe more so in engineering

Cons

Some lack of cross department coordination, but something they’re trying to improve Not engineering seems to always be underwater, but from what I’ve heard they’ve been trying to improve that through automation
