Pros

Salary is above average for the industry.

Cons

Sr. MGM decisions are being driven by VP and Directors that are not addressing the real issues within the organization.

Pros

Good benefits, pay and opportunities. Good people to work with. Chances to grow through aspire program.

Cons

Leadership too easily distracted by new projects. Don't seem to complete projects before moving on to next one. Continually changing paperwork leaving people confused with what is the correct way to do the job today! Individuals verbally adding to procedures putting those on the production floor caught in the middle. What was correct yesterday is wrong today because of personnel changes in auditing. Failure to inform production of changes in procedures until they are handed operator awareness. Extremely poor communications with off shifts. Never see engineers or quality techs to ask questions. Problems with equipment go unresolved for "YEARS". Management spears to have a philosophy of "if your problem does not directly affect me then it is not a problem so don't make your problem mine"

Pros

The benefits are decent. The work is plentiful; but not overwhelming most of the time. Zimmer Dental Days are fun. Quarterly meeting are a nice break from the day to day activities.

Cons

No communication between the departments. Finding things out is trial and error. Training programs are non-existent. Training is from co-workers and tends not to be complete as they don't know what they are doing in the first place. Procedures are regularly not followed or are side stepped. Hard work and productivity results in no rewards nor even a "thank you". Don't ask for assistance if you are overwhelmed, because you won't get help. Initiative is not wanted; rather it's ignored and discouraged. Don't bother to work 80+ hours a week (salary) and expect anything in return. If you like to work with bitter children that management allows to run amuck, this is the place for you. Running to HR is a habit over the smallest little thing. HR will take one employee's word over another with no proof and punish the other employee. Employee conflicts are not even attempted to be resolved and they are allowed to fester creating a hostile work environment. Since the merger this has escalated tenfold. I feel like I lost at least 20 IQ points since working at Zimmer Dental as they hire uneducated employees with no drive to make things better, no sense of urgency and an intelligence level of a groundhog. If you have a degree, expect your "lower ranked" colleagues to resent you for having an education and to make your work life a living hell. Also, teamwork is nearly a curse word at Zimmer Dental.
