      A once great company being destroyed by incompetent senior management

      Pros

      In general, the people at the "working" level are intelligent, competent, and good to work with. Has a very friendly midwest atmosphere.

      Cons

      The company is run by a lawyer, and as such there is a paranoia of any business risks, leading to an erosion of market share. During the investigation by the government, the CEO's answer was to totally isolate the customer base. After losing tons of business, he has blamed his subordinates, firing or demoting a series of vice presidents and bringing in some hired guns from GE. Their management style is executive fiat, meaning with no reason or logic demanding results with no support or resources. Morale is currently overworked and fearful.

      Smart and understanding people to work with; laid back culture; You can be exposed to many different areas of the Finance department in a reasonable time frame with the rotational program.

      Cons

      Tend to hire outsiders instead of promoting within.
