Pros

Ziosk is a great place for motivated individuals with desire to learn and contribute. It’s a fast paced environment with a lot of high pressure situations and excitement. The leadership team is improving processes and giving individual contributors the ability to provide feedback. If you work hard, exhibit positive leadership, and a willingness to search for the answers, there’s a lot of opportunity for growth.

Cons

No company is perfect and Ziosk has challenges, but teams are really putting in the effort to make improvements. Some employees who never worked in any other corporate environments tend to focus only on the negatives. A few tenured employees left over the last year, but it opened up opportunities for positive change and growth.

Growing up from Startup to Mid-sized Business

Pros

The people are passionate about the vision. Everyone is working towards a singular goal with the best intentions, which means there may be some healthy disagreements, but they all come from a place of doing what's best for the business without any malicious reasons. There is a good culture that they try to foster at the higher levels with team events, good work-life balance, and a relaxed atmosphere. People are generally very nice to each other and some teams have formed great cultures at the micro-level. The transition from waterfall to Scrum is at a stable place with most teams running pretty smoothly. The company has had all the growing pains of transitioning from a start-up mindset to a real business, including an inflated management team. Recently, they've been addressing these issues straight-on and working to reorganize and instill processes to reduce the pains that have been felt at the lower levels. It's encouraging to see real attention being paid to employee feedback and such massive changes being made to improve the company. Such a massive transition provides a lot of opportunity for high performers to make a real difference in the company's future. There's a lot of room for growth within and across departments.

Cons

Depending on the team, the workload can be strenuous. Unless you're really good at saying no, you can find yourself taking on a lot of projects. However, saying no is encouraged and should be done more often. Some of the executive management is lacking for teams and the organization structure is still being figured out. The technology is outdated in some areas, with processes that are not efficient. Historically, there was not good strategic planning so the company priorities and focus areas changed frequently. Bad reviews make it difficult to hire top talent, and we need superstars to help with the company transition.
