Not Good, Not Terrible - Just Okay or a Little Bad
Pros
- Happen to love my team, but many don't - Pay is a little better than other companies for Technical Program Management. This might have been because I negotiated very well when joining and was paid the highest end of my level's range. - Interesting product and problem space - Riding in the vehicles and experiencing the milestones gives a lot of satisfaction and makes the work feel worth it - pretty professional environment - not too many HR issues other than the toxic culture of working people hard - Just too much work all the time. Prepare to be at least a little burnt out almost always if you work here. - Stressful
Cons
- Complex problem space and 1 million acronyms - you will spend the first 2 years at least a little confused at all times - ramp up time to start working is not bad, but ramp up time to feel comfortable working is very long - TOXIC culture: not toxic all the time and depends on team / coworkers but there is an underlying toxicity embedded within Zoox's culture. The culture is pretentious, some C levels have bad attitudes which trickles all the way down to ICs (Program Management for example), and there's a lot of finger pointing at every level. - Not very fun to work here but people are friendly - Compensation for promotions isn't great. Really don't feel like you're getting your worth as you stay here and work hard.
