Poor execution. Director level leaders typically are non-technical, program managers run the show - meetings, status updates, assinging wrong people to jobs. Promote young, inexperienced engineers to managerial positions so their boss is safe as he/she typically is a non-tech sleak talker. All is about looking good in meetings, talking at "high level", all seem to be good and make sense, just they are hollow. Real engineers will find themselves being asked to install a window to the wheel of a car so it can make coffee. Many many real engineers have left and the company did absolutely nothing -- it is very pretending culture. It is just about fooling around.

Management relies heavily on favoritism and believes in throwing you under the bus, rather than fostering trust, collaboration, or innovation. Employees are not empowered to contribute meaningfully, feedback is often ignored, and career progression depends more on office politics than performance or merit. The result is an unhealthy, demoralizing work environment where stress runs high, feedback can get you fired, and decisions lack transparency.
