Pros

ZOZI hires people that it believes in. With the recent pivot and hiring of a lot of new faces to drive the new B2B business the company is filled with a lot of positivity, momentum, and encouragement. It feels like a collaborative system working towards the same goal. Although ZOZI is a startup and like any company has its challenges, the main pros about this company is the opportunity to really do what you're good at, get hired for it, and then feel the support of the company rooting you to succeed. You can tell that everyones wants the company to succeed, and that means that everyone wants the employees to succeed. Plus, there are great perks to working here. If you love the outdoorsy/adventure lifestyle that's the basis of the business. Plus, you get 400 credits a quarter, which could amount to 1600 credits a year, or a full getaway trip. There are also awesome professional development opportunities, like $100 a month to take classes at General Assembly or Academy purely to get better at the skills you find important. There's also an improv class that can be taken to get more comfortable with your coworkers, in public speaking, and just in general to bond. ZOZI makes a huge effort trying to encourage a great culture. The office is big now, and at times you don't get to see everyone. Although there are only 60 people in the company, the size of the new office space sometimes makes it hard to run into everyone all the time so the company has a culture club to put on events to encourage more team bonding like happy hours, movie nights and game nights. Everyone gets to voice their input. Did I also mention dogs? There are several dogs in the office, which are therapeutic during times of stress. Unless you're on the sales team with a set schedule, the schedule here is pretty flexible. As long as you get your stuff done, most everyone outside of sales can build their own schedule.

Cons

The only cons I can think of is just getting situated into the new office and figuring out a commute that works. Given where we are today at the end of the Embarcadero, it's just a matter of getting the timing right to find the right buses/commute routes to get to the new office efficiently.

One of the best places I've worked

Pros

I've worked at many great fast-paced companies, and my experience at ZOZI has been one of the best. I'm challenged to dream big, take ownership, and make a significant impact on major projects. I feel like my voice is heard, and I'm given a lot of freedom to step up and create more value. As the strategy has become clear over the past year, there is a strong sense of excitement about the future. The growth trajectory is incredible, and there's no slowing down. The people are AWESOME. Super smart, driven, and collaborative. Everyone is just so nice and down-to-earth, to the point where I remember feeling blown away by it when I first joined. I guess I've gotten used to it by now, but this is something really special about ZOZI's culture that I don't want to take for granted.

Cons

The company went through many changes a few years ago during a pivot, which came with some growing pains as leadership built a stronger strategy. This is pretty normal for startups, but it did result in some (mostly previous) employees who had a frustrating experience. Today, the vision and path to success is clear and well-communicated - and I'm very optimistic about the future.

Pros

-I love the people that I work with. It is hard for me to image a more open, genuine and supportive team to be on. -Everyone is smart, collaborative and fun to be around. -This company rewards people who take the initiative and come with solutions. -Growing like crazy and moving fast -Lots of advancement opportunities

Cons

-I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from, but almost all of them are wildly misleading and inaccurate -Like any job, things can get difficult when we are trying to achieve lofty goals -Some times it can be hard to manage multiple project with limited resources -Do yourself a favor and interview with ZOZI. Ask yourself, do these people seem smart, genuine and driven? If the answer is yes, you should try as hard as you can to get a job here. It will be a great decision
