Soild Brand and deep roots in the insurance / risk engineering industry Above average paycheck

Cons

> Reorgs every 6 months with no consultation...very sterile approach ("Outcome assessment" was title of my appointment to see if I still had a job after a large restrucure changing my role significantly with no input) > Company is marching toward significant changes using ready, fire, aim methodology; Hacksaw Greco is turning into a one-trick pony by slashing expenses for short term earnings bump. > Reorgnaization in an already widespread company all over the globe makes job satisfaction slim to none as your are always finding brick walls.

Summer hours are the only thing I can think of

management brings a lot of friends and very clickish - Favoritism is very visible - Micro management - retaliation policy does not apply.... Awful place to work - extremely stressful and goals are impossible to meet there is no respect at all in workplace and, it starts from the top - very visible

Where to begin. Tough to survive in this mix-master unless you are a real suck-up to management. Does not value diversity of opinion. The Swiss are a real piece of work. Not really all that smart but forceful in their presentation. It's so large that I think there is little management can do to damage or improve the firm. Culture in Schaumburg is horrible. Lot's of turn-over of senior management. Lack of direction - who do they want to be today? Lot's of people heading to meetings or looking for something to do. Pretty negative folks who really don't like change. It's feels a bit like a government job.
