Pros

Businesss casual dress code. Fellow associates are extremely willing to help new employees learn. 100+ year old company. Close-knit feeling with co-workers. Erie is a great place to live and work, extremely low cost of living compared to the national average. President/ CEO is highly accessible and always open for a quick conversation or idea pitch. Branches all over the compnay and within its parent company, Rexnord, to move and grow.

Cons

Very complex product offering. Limited formal training available. Most people work through their breaks, show up early, and stay a little late.

Pros

Excellent products and decent health benefits. Good location and a nice facility. Fairly clean and safe work environment for employees.

Cons

Cost cutting and layoffs are a given as with most companies right now, however, the trend the last few years at Elkay has been to hire management and promote from outrside. Most of their job histories tell that they change companies every couple of years and have no vested interest in seeing Elkay thrive as they appear to be looking for the next job opportunity at the next company. Management does not give credit where credit is due and unfortunately they have taken credit for projects that regular employees have created and finished. Management preaches teamwork yet there is little to no communication from them and alot of deriding when they do communicate.
