On shaky ground

Pros

Good for entry level start, then move on. Some positions have the ability to work remotely.

Cons

Overall: Since being acquired by Hearst, it's all about cutting costs, not about patient care. Hearst also acquired companion companies to Zynx, so mergers are inevitable. The founder, Scott Weingarten, sold his interest in the company in late 2012, knowing that this little company would get eaten up by the other Hearst companies. It is on shaky ground at best. A VP is also leaving. Departmental: The morale in certain departments is extremely low. The majority of upper and middle managers are men - there is a clear culture of discrimination with heavy politics. Expectations of employees in certain departments are ridiculously high for the salaries that are paid, adding to an already high stress level. There is no transparency with management. The business model with rah-rah annual meeting, is archaic, as are some business practices. I was surprised by this when I started.

Pros

In the last year or so, a lot of leadership changes that have changed the personality of this company. Feels more transparent and innovation-focused. Bringing in some really good people in the last 6-8 months especially. Feels like a start-up in many of the good senses - enthusiasm, energy, optimism. Lots of good people at Zynx, including a number who are very committed and have been here for years.

Cons

Still overcoming some of the trust and innovation issues the company had in the past, though these seem to be improving fairly quickly.

Not a good company to work for

Pros

It's a full time job with benefits!

Cons

Lay-offs every year in October. They have had lay-offs in 2015, 2016, and 2017 every year in October. They are not a stable company even though their parent company has been in business for 100+ years. Just make sure you have a back up plan. The benefits were expensive. The training is not consecutive with the tests that they make mandatory. There is no upward mobility due to a struggling company.
