Solid company to work for

Pros

- Work well paid - Good work / life balance - Friendly colleagues

Cons

- Is run as a collection of small companies rather than a single company, so the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing which leads to a lot of ineffeciency; long term strategy is patchy as a result - Unless you work for the exploration and production side you will always feel like, and be treated, like a poor cousin

Pros

Lots of opportunities for leadership and networking and climbing the company ladder by rubbing shoulders with the higher-ups. Great life-work balance

Cons

Not enough responsibilities and job exposure in the first year of work. You will feel as if you are stifling with boredom. If you are actually interested in becoming a technical expert in your field, think again. Should start with 3 weeks vacation.
