Pros

Inspiring focus on core values. Get to help students in need. Fully remote with plenty of opportunities to connect with other team members. Fair compensation. Big focus on employee work/life balance. Great onboarding experience.

Cons

Remote work has its own challenges, but the company does a good job of addressing them. Competitive space with a lot of companies trying to disrupt. Company is making a lot of improvements which always creates growing pains.

Pros

Option to work from home

Cons

This is by far the most mismanaged and bizarre place I have ever worked. Managers are not team players and do not treat their employees as equals - there are clear favorites. Also, many employees put the CEO on a pedestal as if he’s the greatest thing to ever exist, it’s very odd. Eluma does nothing to improve or encourage their employees. Expectations are very unclear yet you are somehow expected to know what is required of you. If you do decide to interview here I encourage you to ask the following: How do you set your employees up for success? How are goals set and how is performance measured? How is eluma supporting DEI initiatives? How was the previous person in this position successful?

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, I truly do appreciate it. We are constantly working to improve the clarity of our communication and the clarity of our expectations. We've made improvements in what information is shared at our monthly all-hands meeting, what information is shared at our bi-annual company/department defining objective review, and what information will be shared at our upcoming annual summit. We understand giving feedback can come with feelings of discomfort which is why we also allow employees the opportunity to anonymously provide feedback through bi-annual eNPS surveys, quarterly employee wellbeing surveys, and an always-available anonymous feedback form. In addition to that, I personally and professionally give my guarantee that anyone is safe to come and speak with me at any time without fear of retaliation and a promise that I will maintain confidentiality to the utmost best of my abilities.

Not the same company it once was.

Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty competitive. They offer a good amount of PTO, wellness days, etc.

Cons

The culture has changed a lot in the past year or so. Senior management isn't transparent and there are structural changes every month it seems. Employees usually find out about these changes through email after the fact. The company vision isn't clear anymore and the alignment between departments is severely lacking.

Thank you for the feedback. In 2022 eLuma took a step back and reassessed our goals and the strategies in place for achieving those goals. This led to us making some difficult decisions regarding the operational structure of eLuma. Through making these difficult decisions and working through the challenging moments, we have better positioned ourselves to work towards our vision of helping all students achieve their potential.
