Pros

Great down-to-earth teammates who help each other and have fun. Strong values-based culture. The opportunity to help students is big, especially in mental health. Jeremy is a great leader. The company speaks the language of the educators because many have educational backgrounds.

Cons

Building software, and providing mental health and related services is hard to get done with a small team.

Was a special place to work

Pros

The culture of eLuma was truly what made it special.

Cons

Unfortunately, politics, inter-departmental conflict, and lack of cohesive leadership has resulted in a toxic culture. The eLuma that was growing, thriving, and making a difference is not the eLuma of today.

Thank you for the feedback. We acknowledge that eLuma has been through a lot, that we haven't always behaved consistent with our culture and values, and we're working through the challenges and striving to be the best we can be. It's good people like you who help us stay self-aware so we can achieve our potential. 2023 is going to be a year focused on execution and having fun making a positive impact!

They don't care about the people

Pros

In the beginning, I felt valued and like I was making a difference. I believed in the company's mission and everyone lived its values. Working remotely is great and the benefits are okay.

Cons

The company values are no longer lived by the employees, and this doesn't just include recent employees but ones who used to live it. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and they refuse to communicate effectively. The CEO has turned almost robotic, maybe to bury the guilt, and doesn't care about his people anymore. One department has recently fallen apart and I see others following suit shortly.
