Not the place it used to be

Pros

Decent work/life balance. Benefits aren't bad. Really nice, smart, hard working people.

Cons

The family environment they boast about hasn't been there since prior to the acquisition of Prize Logic. The CEO doesn't even know who people are anymore. Leadership has become very impersonal, cold, and calculated. When you lay people off, have the class to do it in person where individuals are allowed to ask questions and digest the information. Don't do it on a Zoom call with a hundred other people. Lastly, not allowing people to ask for references from their managers is as low as it gets. So much for taking care of your own.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We completely understand that you may be feeling negatively towards the company as a result of the layoff. When we considered how to go about meeting with employees, we considered that doing it in a group setting (while ensuring no visibility amongst the employees in the meeting for privacy concerns) was best. The alternative would have been individual meetings which, once they began, word would have gotten out and we didn’t want employees to have to suffer in silence for several days waiting “their turn” for a meeting. Although not ideal, we thought this was the better option for employees for that reason. In lieu of reference letters, we have had a policy of providing only title and dates of employment for verifications of employment as part of our handbook for many years, and we find that it offers consistency for all, and is in line with what many companies currently do in that area.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, 2pm Friday release, people are nice.

Cons

- Zero strategic plan, pivot from whatever plan they have persistently. Have self admitted to certain employees that after laying off 1/3 of the company, they have no plan past like 12 months. Complete survival mode. - There are better ways to lay people off than mass zoom calls, and before they rebuttal this in the comments - there are ways other than individual meetings and letting people have the axe hanging over their head. Also had no idea WHO should be let go and what those impacts would be. Let go several people they had to call for information or to ask to come back. - Other problem with the above bullet is management PERSISTENTLY told us the exact opposite was the case as they cut off new business for a quarter, hired a ton of people, then fired 1/3 of the company. - Clearly have no idea how budgets or financial projections should work. - will always be held captive to "growth" because its a venture capital run firm. - will nickel and dime your pay, then make it seem like you should be grateful for what you have

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As we mentioned during the layoff last year, we tried to apply the most compassionate approach to communication for that process. We hope that you’ve been able to attend the many town hall presentations we’ve conducted where we’ve given updates on the progress of our plan, both strategically and financially, as well as our budget process. We believe all of this aligns us well with our growth goals. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please speak with your manager, your senior leader or People Operations.

Pros

Unlimited PTO (Good and Bad). Career Advancement

Cons

Very passive aggressive. Not even a month after the company laid off a third of the workforce, the CEO is up in front of the company telling us how good the year is looking. I think most people are pretending they buy into it, but most are smart enough to know how fragile the company is.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Although our original hope was that there would be very few changes, we did make the difficult decision to ultimately move away from the promotional agency business and further align our business around loyalty. We hope since you are a current employee that you continue to attend our frequent town hall meetings where we’ve always shared our company performance, what we are focused on, financials, and other information about the company in the interest of ensuring transparency and that you’ll set up time with People Ops to discuss any concerns you might have.
