Pros

evolvedMD has been an amazing experience. Though it continues to grow I always feel important. The CEO and part owner is always excited and happy to see me as are all the other corporate employees that travel regularly from AZ to Utah for various reasons. I know I am valued and appreciated. I also feel very supported by the care coordinator (my favorite part of the position), knowing that they are going to put in the effort of getting my patients the referrals they need and then following up with them to make sure it happens. That took so much pressure off me so I could focus on what I do best, the therapy. The rest of the company does the same thing but for the logistical side of the operation. They work with the admin staff of the clinic, and with billing and all the other confusing and frankly annoying things so that I don't have to worry about any of it. I can just sit with my patient knowing that everything else is taken care of. Another awesome thing about evolvedMD is that they have supervisors within the organization that will make sure you get all your hours for licensure, free of cost! They also have a program where you can earn a CEU every month and get bonused for it! They do additional productivity bonuses and incentivize self-care. Last pro that I'll say is the working hours. 8-5 with an hour lunch and you are salary. Shut your laptop at 5 and go home to be with your family. No on-call. You really are never going to find another company in mental health like this one. I could see this being my forever career.

Cons

Sometimes being on your own in a Family Practice clinic and being the only behavioral health manager there can feel lonely, but like I said before, they come out to visit and there are company events and happy hours that make up for that as you get to connect with other BHMs and evolvedMD employees.

Not as desirable as it used to be

Pros

Flexible schedule if you are not a clinician

Cons

Being a tenured employee at evolvedMD once felt like an achievement, but over time, it’s become clear that longevity isn’t valued the way it used to be. Career advancement opportunities are minimal, and meaningful raises are rare unless actively pursued or escalated. It’s also discouraging to see new hires brought in at higher salaries than long-standing team members in the same roles. This imbalance has created a sense of stagnation and frustration among those who’ve invested years into the company. Many of us feel undervalued—and at times, intentionally pushed out. As the company grows, it’s become increasingly clear that employees are seen as more replaceable than ever.

Pros

I am still learning to love my position. It is tough, but there are fair parts that make this a good choice for some. It just isn’t for me, however I am putting my best foot forward to learn to do something hard and for a medium amount of time. - Fast track to licensure - CEU easily accessible - Free Supervision (Lunch Included) - Bonuses and metrics to see how you are doing - Working in fast paced environment - Fast track Patients to social services and medication - Patients that would have never attended therapy before have easy access - Independent work - Week off in December (But you don't get to take federal holidays) - PTO (80 hours Vacation, 40 hours Sick, 80 Unpaid, Maternal and Bereavement) - Health care packages and insurance policies

Cons

To be honest, I wanted to quit within the first 6 weeks my health was so bad and previous supervisors told me to run. There were many areas where I fell through the cracks with support. You can feel isolated and unsure of your expectations at times. I also spent a few months falling apart mentally/ emotionally (eg, Crying frequently, low energy, decreased stress tolerance, etc). *** The people that do well in this position have a few common factors:*** pre burnt out, worked in the feild for at least a year prior, almost completed with Associates Licenses, and looking to work their way up and no longer practice. - See a minimum of 5 Patients per day (Always scheduled for 8 per day) - 10-15 minutes to document and prepare between sessions (Keep in mind you document on two platforms and its more than just a soap/dap note) - Often feel isolated from others (Please attend the group events if you are struggling) - Working through lunch frequently - You got to work early, leave late: 8 am - 5 pm but you are working about 9-10 hours per day. - Don’t feel like you are doing real therapy till about 7 months (Ramp up is the worst period— you can get through it)! - Only see Patient’s once a month (Even for high risk, which is morally and ethically difficult for me and why my health declined) The truth is, this is good if you need to get in and get out. Most full time people burn out in this position and they go part time or I have found people leave after a year. That is not to say this isn’t a good opportunity for some, it isn’t for me and I wanted to be honest with my experiences because I feel you find out a little too late what it is actually like and that makes it hard to make a decision if evolvedMD is for you.
