Pros

Coworkers and location is about it

Cons

This was by far the most stressful job I’ve ever had. I was completely overworked and unappreciated. My temporary manager is the reason I started looking for other work. This manager was incredibly unprofessional, sexist, and provided no actionable feedback. I was told I was going to get a promotion at the end of my first year only for my manager to not show for my review (my previous manager returned from leave and attended), provided no such promotion, and said I had an issue with “composure”. Not only is this sexist and unproductive feedback, but my “composure” issue was due to the new head of sales completely belittling me during a meeting with my largest client. He was known for doing this to fellow CSMs and nothing was done despite me escalating the issue. Terrible management and the new executive team made my last few months unbearable. The new executive team came in and added more responsibilities and slashed pay. This is not a company I recommend working for.

Pros

The promise of the product is great. Promise is the operative word.

Cons

Left a great job chasing the promises from iCIMS. Bountiful territory, flexible hours, happy employees & positive culture. Reality- Territory was the size of my local Walmart, employees are pulling 12 hour days on escalations and nonsense administrative work to stay afloat, pure misery in all directions & a toxic culture permeating from leaders around the business. There is no ability to bring your style or strategy to your role as you will be raked over the coals for not fitting into their archaic methodology. I witnessed top performers (and trust me there are very few as <20% of people even sniff hitting quota) detract and become disengaged as Sales leadership expectations and reality continued to separate. While my team struggled to even maintain our employment and consistently voiced our concerns regarding factors outside of our control, the CEO & exec team maintained constant toxic positivity regarding the "state of iCIMS", never once addressing the absolutely critical failures around the business. Abysmal employee retention around the business led to systemic failures in Support and Implementations, which fell back on sales and Account management to handle incurable escalations. When doing my research I saw a few reviews that called out that the positive reviews regarding iCIMS are from employees in the Onboarding process. I can confirm this is true, we were incentivized to leave a positive review during my onboarding process as we had no view into the reality of the situation at that time.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Our sales leadership works hard to ensure that our territories provide ample opportunity and the ability to focus on key priorities. We've added many new processes and systems this year to help our sales team manage their territories in the most effective manner. We're also happy to share that we've invested a great deal in training with new trainings available internally along with product certification programs. We even have training from our customer 0 team about how we use our products to attract, engage, hire, and advance our own winning workforce! As the head of TA, I can confirm that we do not incentivize any new hire to leave a review during onboarding. We do provide a link to our Glassdoor interview review area to provide an optional review about the interview experience, specifically. We do not track this, require completion, or provide an incentive for completion. This process was somewhat different 2+ years ago and has since been changed.

Pros

Overall the benefits were pretty great. And the location - as a NJ based tech company, was a huge plus.

Cons

The management at iCIMS - even those who have been there since the company started - has completely lost touch with the employees. Successful companies work when executives state plans, and individual contributors decide how to reach those goals. At iCIMS, the executives are so prescriptive and involved in small minute details that you don't have a chance to be creative or actually grow. There's also a huge culture of playing favorites. Add all of that to the fundamental issue - that their product is being built to get more customers in the door and not to retain those they already have, and everyone's life is a living hell.
