Pros

-Good experience working with younger people -Using computer science knowledge consistently is a good way to stay sharp

Cons

-Pay was $6-7 per hour lower than what was advertised on indeed several days before interviewing -At times the lesson plans require an application or software version that's now incompatible -If you don't know how to deal with children misbehaving/not paying attention this may not be for you

Pros

You get to work with children and they just brighten up your day. Great for you if you've gotten into Computer Science to teach.

Cons

Very stingy with money. They do NOT pay you enough. Please listen when I say this. A lot of instructors work here because they think they make 12~15 dollars per hour while just babysitting. That is not the case. You are allowed to come in 30 minutes early into work to learn the very material that you're supposed to teach (you can't prepare it on your own because it's a "secret"). After you are done with your class, you can write the mandatory class review while clocked in for 30 minutes. Even if you have another class coming up, they will ask you to leave and come back. They also check through cameras and clock-in records to see if you did that; which means they'll warn you if you came in too early or stayed overtime. I started working here during college to put something on my resume and I loved teaching kids but honestly it is not worth it. Your future employers will not count this as a professional job experience either.
