Pros

-The Business Case is real -Stock Volatility can make you a lot of money if you're lucky -Medical benefits are good -Travel/Remote policies are good where they exist iRhythm has a legitimate business case in interpreting heart rate records for cardiac patients. They also have a concrete international business expansion plan as well as the resources to scale their data architecture.

Cons

-Toxic social-oriented work environment -Opaque and seniority-based decision making processes -Poor engineering/technical/management practices -Uninspiring product pipeline -No internal experts/expertise -Little to No Technical Development iRhythm has always been cruising on that initial business case while trying to figure out the hardware to support it. Unfortunately, startup management grew the team based on social fit and communication skills - even preventing managers from performing technical evaluations of candidates. As a result, much of the Director level and under "organic" middle-management is technically under-skilled, and, for the most part, has spent most of their career at iRhythm. There are very few technical challenges at iRhythm, but many procedural and political ones. Decision making is terrible. Inconvenient truths are hidden under Directors and hand-waved away to be fixed later - the result is significant technical debt (in my opinion) in the core products while trying to scale. These problems are surmountable, but not with current leadership, and not without holding middle-management accountable for performance. Many times I saw "narrative" win out over facts and data, with socially-connected resources being protected and groomed for their loyalty, not for their ability or achievement. "Failing upwards" is very common, with most leaders leaving behind failing projects before they are finished, and those projects are often "pain points" forever for GOOD technical resources to fix (but those people tend to burn out and quit). iRhythm is still a place where early-stage medical device engineers can learn and grow - but if you spend longer than 2-3 years here, you are wasting your time and not learning crucial skills; you will find it difficult to obtain a role at the same level at another company.

Pros

Only pro here is working with patients. That’s about it’s. Now Keep reading and let’s get into the CONS of this company!

Cons

First off, I’ve been here for a year and let’s just say this. Everything was going good as i started off. I noticed a changed in the company. Due to high volume of calls. New hire where leaving due to the stress, people in my training class where leaving as well… Here is where it all STARTS (MANAGEMENT) y’all (they) all TERRIBLE the supervisor to be EXACT. They don’t know how to talk to people which is us (the employees) they always rush us when we’re off in after call wrapping up.l a TICKET. There can be literally 5 calls holding in queue and the lazy supervisor will ping everyone in the teams chat to tell everyone to end out wrap and go available? So you’re telling me you want us to rush? Ok got it. Very smart… they are the worst even upper management. They don’t care about there employees so why do we care about them? We only care for the patients. And another thing PTO sucks - 4.6 you accumulate every 2 weeks. It goes up if you’re there longer. You always get occurrence if you late or call off which is dumb. Stay away from jobs like this. ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM TO GROW. Do not apply here . Whole management team is a headache. It’s not worth your mental health.

Pros

The people are the best. The culture is very supportive and collaborative. The teams mobilize and everyone pitches in to help when needed. Team members are incredibly intelligent and innovative. Salary and benefits are above industry standards.

Cons

Continued challenges with poor leadership at the C level. Company has not been profitable - negative EBITDA - in the last four years. Continued issues with FDA warning letters, legal issues with DOJ investigation, lawsuits. Irhythm is essentially a single product, single service, single market company that doesn’t make money. An attempt at an international launch has stalled and has been largely abandoned. None of that points to a sustainable future. I would not be surprised if the company were acquired and sold for parts in the next 12 months.
