Constant change and questionable decision making

Pros

In my time at nTop, I was able to work with some very talented and driven people within the GTM org and the benefits were pretty good overall.

Cons

Even while growing we had layoffs every 3-6 months which caused terrible team morale throughout the GTM organization. Everyone who remained basically got punished by absorbing the extra workload without any additional benefits, which led to high levels of burnout. Quotas continue to increase QoQ when there is no data to support that its even possible to get there. Most reps are lucky to have 1-1.5x pipeline coverage to their quotas and maybe one of us hit quota each quarter. Leadership and micromanagement are also real problems here. You routinely have c-level executives getting involved in very minor stakes decisions that just slows down any real improvement. There is no real coherent strategy that is disseminated outside of the c-suite and if something is not working its obviously the team's fault and not theirs for deciding on that strategy. They make constant changes to how they want to go-to-market with the product to the point when a new strategy has been implemented, there is already another change planned in the near future. Many times when presented with the data, management chose to ignore certain parts they didn't agree with, even though its data and not an opinion. When the issue could have been rectified with little business impact, instead they choose to ignore it until it becomes the type of problem you cannot ignore and then do more layoffs to keep our financials looking okay. Lastly, there is no culture. Long-time employees who were core to creating that culture have been forced out, nobody really has any fun due to overloading their capacity, and its the kind of the place where many choose to work through lunch with their headphones on instead of interacting with other colleagues.

Pros

Since I started at nTop, I have been overwhelmingly impressed with the depth of talent here. From our sales team to engineering and everywhere in between. Beyond the fair pay and remote work offered here at nTop, we have an amazing product that is truly a leader in generative design. We recently had our company meet-up, and it was clear that nTop is focused on strengthening its market position while growing responsibly and investing in its people. I am appreciative of the opportunity and look forward to seeing us continue to be a force in this space.

Cons

So far things have exceeded expectations.

Pros

- High tech product that has strong differentiation from competitors (for now) - Cool, smart, edgy people as colleagues from all age ranges - $20 every Weds for use on any meal you like - Good amount of PTO and flexibility to use said PTO

Cons

- Product differentiation factor at risk as other large players in the marketplace move quickly to imitate the product & capabilities - Hard product to sell - key product attributes missing required to commercialize the product at scale - Inexperienced leadership team, with exception to a few recent C-suite hires - High turnover rate at all levels
