- Base pay is pretty decent for entry-level workers - Co-workers are very friendly and regularly work together - Very kind management; all the assistant managers and the store manager are some of the best I've worked with - Flexible store positions with straightforward tasks - Very likely to receive requested time off (if requested in advance) - Under a large corporation but has a unique work environment that is very down-to-earth - A bit labor-intensive but can take breaks if management is notified

Cons

- Was not properly informed of strict company policies in relation to attendance and expected work behavior - Since pOpshelf is fairly new, store policies frequently change and you must be in constant communication with management

Most of my co-workers were wonderful.

Favoritism and bullying reign high at Popshelf. The current incarnation of the store resembles nothing of the team dynamic I was hired into. Store and district management are unprofessional at best. Employees who resist persistent criticism, nitpicking, undermining behavior, and rudeness are viewed as the problem, and receive no support. In fact, there seems to be a desire to rid the store of people who object to such treatment while the individual responsible is protected. I was bullied into quitting by store management. When I reported this to district management I received a cold, dismissive response, so evidently district management is supportive of bullying tactics. If you’re looking for the work culture Popshelf claims to value (“a culture that celebrates success, empowers individuals, and fosters a sense of teamwork”), you won’t find it here.
