I am 50% black and 50% white and I love my brown skin. 🤎" Sifen Zewdie, Behavioral Health Technician of our Flower Mound location, writes "This holiday holds a lot of significance for me. Sacrifices have allowed me to be UNAPOLOGETICALLY Ethiopian in a foreign country. My Black is Beautiful!" Symphony Harding, RBT of Flower Mound writes, "To have Juneteenth finally be recognized, to be talked about, & to be acknowledged means a lot to me! I am so grateful and thankful to those before me for instilling the power of never giving up, always living in my truth, and always fighting for what is right. "I recently toured a family who was searching for an ABA center, but expressed concern that many of the facilities available feel like a medical office, instead of a place for children. By the end of the tour, the parent teared up, saying she’d never felt so supported by a center. Parker felt so warm, inviting, and safe, and she finally feels as though she’s found a center that will care for her child in the same way that she does. At Action, we believe our BCBAs are paramount to our organization, and because of this, we maintain caseloads of 8-10. ABC chooses to keep the caseload small for BCBAs so they are each able to conduct ample supervision for their team of BTs and RBTs while continually updating treatment plans. RBT Careers in Action! Bridget Morgan, Clinical Director of Frisco, has been with ABC for 4 years and has grown through the ranks of RBT ⇢ BAT ⇢ BCBA ⇢ ACD ⇢ CD! Her role as Clinical Director involves creating a cohesive environment where BCBAs and staff members feel supported clinically and professionally. When asked how obstacles have helped her grow, Bridget responded, "Looking back, I wish I had started my education and career in ABA so that I had filled my bucket with knowledge and tools to use in my career journey from day one. However, due to my exposure and support at ABC, I was able to learn and grow with the company and this has led me to become a more ethical BCBA, strong leader, and career motivated person. I am thankful that ABC has shaped and molded me along the way, as I would not be the clinician I am today had I not begun my journey here at ABC. RBT Careers in Action! Sydney Lawson is an RBT III in Colorado. Her career has progressed from BT ⇢ RBT I ⇢ RBT II ⇢ RBTIII! She currently provides direct therapy in the DTT and NET settings. Sydney uses programs outlined by her BCBA to support the growth and functional skill development of the children she serves. RBT IIIs typically have 12 months of experience within ABC or at least 2 years of working as a Behavioral Therapist/RBT. When asked about her career at ABC, Sydney writes, "It has been rewarding to see the progression of each patient that I work with daily. This is what motivates me and is why I chose the field of ABA. After joining ABC, I started down the path of pursuing my Master's to become a BCBA. Now, over halfway done with school, I can say the structure at ABC has allowed me to successfully work on getting to the next level in my career. Bridget Morgan, our Clinical Director of Frisco, shares a few photos and details about her RESTORE vacation this past week! "Wow, What a week! I spent 5 days cruising around the Bahamas and a couple days exploring Miami. The first stop was Half Moon Cay and then I spent a day beach hopping in Nassau on a moped!!! I spent my days in the sun and clear blue waters, and caught up on rest overnight. I can truly say... I AM #RESTORED ❤️🛳🥰 I’m incredibly thankful to Action Behavior Centers for gifting me this vacation in order to restore myself. Arizona Appreciation Week has concluded and our teams are full of gratitude for the community we've built in the Phoenix/Tucson areas. Last year, AZ Appreciation Week was held with only one center.
