During the 2026 Annual Meeting of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Dr. Shane M. Clary, SVP-Government Relations for Bay Alarm Company was named a Life Member of the NFPA. This was to recognize his over thirty years of volunteer work in advancing the goals of the NFPA. During Dr. Clary’s thirty plus years he has contributed to the NFPA in a number of assignments: - Chair of the Technical Committee for the Fundamentals of Fire Alarm Systems – 2003-2013 - Member of the NFPA Standards Council – 2005-2011 - Chairman of the NFPA Building Fire Safety Systems Section – 2019-2023 - NFPA Special Achievement Award – 2013 for is work on NFPA 3 & 4. - NFPA Committee Service Award – 2025 for his work on numerous Technical Committee including NFPA 1, 3, 4, 70, 72, 101,420,730, 731, 909,914, 915 & 5000. - He has served on NFPA 3/4, 420 and 730/730 since their development.
