2019 was a year of firsts, with the opening of our first Store of the Future at Covent Garden and our first Pride events in London and Nottingham. 2019 was the year that we reinvented beauty in our stores with new beauty halls and amazing new brands. 2019 saw more steps to become a sustainable business with the launch of our paper bags and our water refill station. Last week colleagues from across Boots UK stores, Support Office, warehouse and Boots Opticians raised an incredible £1.1 million for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal. The money raised by Boots UK this year will support projects that champion children’s mental wellbeing, encouraging young people to build resilience and confidence. In addition, more than 400 colleagues volunteered through the night at the Customer Support Center, taking telephone donations and making Boots one of the biggest and busiest BBC Children in Need call centers in the country.
