ECHN recently hosted its 21st Annual Recognition Celebration. This event celebrates and recognizes employees of ECHN who have continued to provide quality patient care and support for 20, 30, 40 and 50 years! Five ECHN Award of Excellence and Employee of the Month Winners were also celebrated. We value each and every one one of our employees and commend them for continuing to uphold ECHN’s mission and vision to improve the well-being of our patients and community by providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Congratulations to DAISY Award Recipient Parbatie Harrilagan, RN! Parabatie is a registered nurse and has worked at ECHN for several years. For the past year, she has been working at the Rockville Hospital’s Eating Disorder Unit (EDU). Parbatie was recently honored at a surprise ceremony with her colleagues. She received a certificate proclaiming her as an "Extraordinary Nurse," a DAISY award pin and a unique, hand-carved serpentine stone sculpture from Zimbabwe, entitled "A Healer's Touch."

Only two hospitals in Connecticut and 24 hospitals in the United States share this honor. We are extremely proud to have been chosen and recognized by the CoC, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. Attaining this award demonstrates the outstanding efforts and commitment by our clinical and administrative staff for providing high-quality care to cancer patients within our community.
