Engineering directors John Zicko and Umair Zia participated as judges at the recent 2019 Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Graduate Research Innovation Exchange poster presentations. At this event, masters and doctorate candidates receive feedback on their current work. The candidates must be able to explain their research and present the findings to an audience that is not familiar with the research topic. Zicko and Zia said it was an honor to participate and felt that the students learn from the judges, and as judges, they also learn from the students.
Black History Month: Recognizing Important Contributions to Our Society Eversource is proud to celebrate Black History Month, also known as African-American History Month in the United States. This is a time dedicated to recognizing the contributions and achievements that African-Americans have made to our society. This year, in the spirit of the month-long celebration, the Eversource Multicultural Business Resource Group (MCBRG) is featuring black innovators in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) who defied stereotypes, overcame adversity, and blazed new trails for the entire black community. Each week during the month of February, the MCBRG will feature a different black innovator whose work has significantly impacted our culture. Thank you to the MCBRG for sharing this important information and for helping to bring employees together from different cultures to network, develop skills, and support each other.
