Happy #EEDay2017 from the most #energyefficient city and state in the country, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. Our energy efficiency team is proud to be a part of the collaborative effort that has put our state on the map for reducing our customers’ energy use, costs, and impact on the environment!
The goal of Work Without Limits is to increase employment among individuals with disabilities. In 2012, they set a 20-year goal to position Massachusetts as the first state in the nation where the employment rate of people with disabilities is equal to people without disabilities. Tim Vernon, a long-time senior customer service rep at our Westwood Call Center, who has been legally blind since birth, believes employers need to be willing to make accommodations to allow employees to succeed and serve as valued members of their team. Here at Eversource, our management team made a concerted effort to set Tim up with the specialized equipment he needed to succeed. He says, “It’s crucial for employers to be open-minded and embrace the varied perspectives brought by an employee with a disability.” This week, WWL is awarding Tim with their annual Exemplary Employee Award, an honor bestowed on a deserving employee with a disability who is a dedicated and exceptional team member who enthusiastically provides excellent service. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Congratulations Tim!
Whether on the job for a year, or over a decade, Customer Service Representatives Joan Danubio and John Dias at our Westwood Call Center are there for customers when needed. John, who started his career here over a decade ago, has served as a helpful advisor to employees like Joan, who joined our team a little over a year ago. Both want customers to know they’re more than just a voice on the other end of the phone—they care about working through any questions or issues that arise and making a difference for everyone who reaches out for assistance. Joan says, “We’re all on the same team, and the long-term employees were all new at one time, and they remember what it was like when they were just starting.” During National Customer Service Week, we’re recognizing our more than 8,000 employees who, like Joan and John, go above and beyond for our customers every day.
It’s National Customer Service Week and we’re recognizing our more than 8,000 employees who go above and beyond for our customers every day, whether in the field providing energy efficiency services, restoring power, or in the call center answering questions. Kory Gamble, a supervisor of electric field operations, who works out of our Somerville Service Center, took customer service to the next level when he was sent to an Arlington customer’s home after a power surge recently. We’ve awarded Kory with our prestigious Customer Excellence Award, and made a donation on his behalf to the Veteran’s Advocacy Services. Congrats, Kory!
Chris Carmody, EVP of Human Resources and Information Technology, was recently honored with the John D. Erdlen Five Star Award by NEHRA, the most prestigious HR award the association bestows on a member. NEHRA, the largest HR organization in the Northeast, honored Chris with this award as a tribute to her inspiring leadership and vision in the dynamic Human Resources arena. “As we know and appreciate, Chris brings a drive and deep personal commitment to ensuring our HR programs, services and benefits place us at the forefront of delivering value and important resources to Eversource employees and retirees,” said Chairman, President and CEO Jim Judge. Congratulations to Chris on this special recognition.
