Intern Spotlight: Meet Roshane - IT Service Management Intern "My name is Roshane Stephenson, an IT Intern at Eversource from May 20th to December 20th, 2024. My time at Eversource has been phenomenal. A standout experience was the IT All Hands Day, where I truly grasped the Eversource work culture. Everyone, regardless of position or seniority, treated me with respect and answered any questions. I participated in team activities and heard from employees about how great Eversource is to work for. The CrowdStrike experience also highlighted the team-oriented mindset at Eversource. People from various backgrounds came together to solve a massive problem, and the gratitude and patience from employees getting their laptops repaired were impressive. I connected with many people, including those from my college (Northeastern University – Go Huskies!) and even my hometown of East Hartford, CT. The seasoned employees were encouraging and supportive, which showed that Eversource supports people from all walks of life to reach their full potential. Initially, I didn't realize the importance of IT at Eversource. Now, I've learned how crucial it is to have a strong IT team to ensure exceptional service, especially during emergencies. It feels good to know that my role is making a significant impact at Eversource and in the communities we serve. My experience here has been truly enriching and memorable."
In honor of National Intern Day this week, we'd like to spotlight some our amazing Eversource Interns. Meet Jordan- Community Relations Intern "My name is Jordan Rogers, I'm a Community Relations and part-time Talent Acquisition Intern at Eversource. I have been with the company for a little over a year now, and working here has been an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience. One of the aspects I enjoy most about working at Eversource is the opportunity to network and connect with colleagues from various departments. The employees are not only kind but also provide guidance that I will carry with me throughout my career. A standout moment during my time at Eversource was organizing an Eversource Day at the New Bedford, MA Boys and Girls Club. We engaged with the kids through workshops such as a lineworker relay race and lessons on how batteries work, helping them understand more about energy and Eversource's role as a company. Seeing the kids have fun and stay engaged was incredibly rewarding and showed the positive impact Eversource can make on the community. The culture and community at Eversource are supportive and inclusive, with everyone dedicated to making a positive impact both within the company and in the communities we serve. This commitment to community involvement and professional development has made my time here truly special. I am excited to continue growing with Eversource this summer and to be a part of its positive community impact."
Today, July 10, Eversource joins the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and other industry groups in celebrating National Lineworker Appreciation Day. Our lineworkers maintain power lines, working in harsh conditions, 50-plus feet in the air and underground, to keep our homes, businesses, and communities powered each day. Today holds special significance for the IBEW and our utility partners in the Edison Electric Institute. On this day, IBEW founder Henry Miller was killed while performing storm restoration for Potomac Electric Light and Power Co. in Washington, D.C. “Henry Miller is far from the only lineworker who has made the ultimate sacrifice to keep the lights on and power flowing,” said International President Lonnie R. Stephenson. “A single day will never be enough to show our gratitude, but I hope everyone will take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices these brave men and women make to ease our lives.” The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) recognizes July 10 as Lineworker Appreciation Day. In 2013, the U.S. Senate designated April 18 as National Lineworker Appreciation Day.
