What started as a scribble on a napkin now becomes a reality! We’re about to set off on the longest European food delivery by bike. We partnered with two cycling enthusiasts, Eva and Mari, to bike over 3,000km to visit our offices and hubs across 9 countries in Europe: Denmark, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Follow them on their trip across Europe as they tour each city with our fellow JETers and experience the #WeAreJet culture through local courier deliveries across our different city hubs. Last week we celebrated Earth Day 🌍 The day brings people around the world together to focus on the planet and challenges facing it. The theme for theme for 2022 is #InvestInOurPlanet, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here at JET through our sustainable food choices, packaging and delivery, and finally in addressing food waste. Jaz Rabadia MBE, our Global Head of Responsible Business & Sustainability explains “Earth day is a reminder that we all have a role to play when it comes to sustaining the earth, especially if we expect it to sustain us. Whether it’s the food we eat, the way we travel or the things we buy, there are many ways each of us can more positively #InvestInOurPlanet.” Read more on our responsible business strategy below #WeAreJET #EarthDay

At JET our thoughts are with everyone that is impacted by the current events in Ukraine. We have offered employees with family members in the war zone psychological and financial support. But we want to do more to support the communities devastated by the tragic events taking place. We’re encouraging employees, consumers, and partners to make a donation to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and Unicef in Australia and New Zealand, via this link https://lnkd.in/eArrkTjs. These organisations make sure the donation will end up there where it's needed most. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small, and we will match all donations up to €500,000. In addition, we aim to donate a further €1 million to humanitarian organisations including UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and World Central Kitchen through our Donate The Change programme in the US, to support these organisations in their work on the frontlines. And we’re offering customers the opportunity to exchange loyalty points for donations to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in participating markets. Follow the link below to donate

Our team from SkipTheDishes in Canada recently teamed up with Women in Communications and Technology Manitoba Chapter to lead a panel discussion on women who have transitioned into different roles in their careers, and supporters who helped facilitate this for others. They discussed pathways in the tech industry, pivoting within careers, and how to advocate for yourself and your career growth. You can watch the full video here! #WeAreJET #WomenInTech

Pathways to Success in Tech: Achieving Positive Movement in Your Career
Especially with digital poverty being such a prominent topic, we are really proud of our tech support teams in the UK for jumping on the opportunity to donate 130+ monitors and desktops to the charity, Barnardo's UK. In our UK offices, we’ve been introducing new desktop setups over the past year, and with other parts of the business moving from a desktop to laptop-based environment, we found ourselves with a surplus of hardware that was no longer required. As a result, all of the leftover equipment has been donated to the children’s charity Barnardo's to help combat digital poverty. In total we contributed 138 PC desktops, 141 monitors, plus, a few boxes of peripherals (keyboard, mice and cables) Whilst this may seem like a straightforward process, it was far from it, as each individual desktop had to be securely wiped by the team in compliance with our InfoSec policies. With each wipe taking on average 17 minutes to complete, that means there was over 39 hours of work for the desktop PCs alone!

We’ll never lay out a fixed career path for you. Instead, we’ll listen and help you forge your own. Lydia says, “I started out as a Customer Service Agent. It was a completely new, very challenging and extremely rewarding experience all at the same time. I then took on a Superior role, before becoming a Team Lead and specialising in Training, Quality and Knowledge. What a whirlwind. I couldn’t have found my place without the support of my team.” Want to forge a career of your own? Apply here via link.

With an estimated 10,500 people sleeping rough on any given night, and the rising cost of food, fuel, and energy bills, this winter is set to be difficult for many. As a business, we recognise that we have a responsibility to make a positive contribution to our local communities. In case you haven't considered donated already, here's Helen Mirren asking for your support. #FoodCycle #SocialBite
