“We are accumulating significant Southern California water facility design projects, and this project will serve as an anchor for years to come as we continue to grow,” says Kleinfelder Vice President Simon Wong of our recent award of the Cielo Woodman Pump Station project for the City of San Diego. “The project also brings together talents at different areas and offices, including our electrical leaders in Edmonton, Canada. This multi-discipline prime role requires internal collaboration, enhancing our ecosystem.” #WeAreKleinfelder

"Kleinfelder empowered our employees and managers with flexibility to re-engineer their work conditions to meet the needs of our clients," says Kleinfelder Senior Vice President and San Diego Area Manager John Moossazadeh, PE. "We are happy to report that the combination of all these initiatives has led to a stable and healthy work force and success in meeting and exceeding our clients’ needs." John was featured in the latest print edition of the San Diego Business Journal, in a special report that examines and discusses the impacts of the pandemic on engineering firms.
We stand in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander staff and friends. The rising tide in hate crimes against Asian Americans since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic are a sad reminder that the journey to end racism in our society is far from complete. Kleinfelder believes our diverse backgrounds and experiences make us better. Challenging ourselves and each other to be better and striving to do the right thing is what we do—and hope you do, too. We are all #StrongerTogether.
In light of World Water Day this week, we are proud to highlight how we value water properly and safeguard it effectively for everyone. Kleinfelder designs total water solutions to help our clients supply and distribute safe drinking water, manage stormwater, and collect and treat wastewater. With the acquisitions of Garcia and Associates, Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc., and Industrial Fluid Management last year, we've added even more water capabilities and technical resources to our team.
It's Women in Construction Week, so we've been highlighting some of Kleinfelder's women in construction across our social media channels. Meet Jordan Alvis, a Project Manager for our Construction Materials Engineering & Testing (CoMET) group in Colorado: “I have worked on a variety of large and small transportation, pavement, geotechnical, and infrastructure projects and have worn many hats, ranging from Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Document Control Manager to higher-level Project Controls support.” Jordan says that she loves seeing women in construction and being part of an inspiring, motivating, and exciting career. “At Kleinfelder, we have so many different projects and opportunities, as well as people who want to mentor women within the construction industry. It’s OK to not know everything – just ask questions and be helpful!”
For International Women's Day, Kleinfelder's President and CEO Louis Armstrong says, "I choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality because diversity will make our company stronger!"
