At Kleinfelder, we have a shared value of safety, and we're honored to be featured in the October issue of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)’s Professional Safety Journal for our achievements during Safe + Sound Week 2020. In August, Kleinfelder staff across North America and Australia celebrated this annual OSHA event with virtual activities that included identifying hazards, recognizing peers’ safety leadership, and taking part in management-led discussions. Participation in these activities raised funds for Kids' Chance of America, Food Banks Alberta, and Camp Quality, and we were able to donate more than $9,000 to these charitable organizations that help make a difference in our communities.
Did you know? Each year, approximately 200,000 men and women leave U.S. military Service and return to life as civilians -- and as veterans. The Department of Defense's SkillBridge program allows partnering companies like Kleinfelder to provide opportunities to transitioning Service members so they can successfully enter the civilian job market. On Veterans Day, we are proud to highlight one of our current SkillBridge interns, Madalyn Lucas, who served as Loadmaster for the Air Force and is now working with our Human Resources team. “Through the SkillBridge program at Kleinfelder, I have been given the opportunity to develop my professional skills, gain knowledge, and create a new career path in Human Resources,” she says. “I have captured a unique perspective in the corporate world and feel confident in my abilities as I transition into civilian life.” Thank you, Mady, and thank you to all of our veterans!
