We are proud to announce that in 2024 three more MedStar Health hospitals earned Magnet® Recognition for excellence in nursing care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet Recognition is one of the highest and most prestigious distinctions a healthcare organization can achieve in the United States with fewer than 10% of hospitals nationally holding the designation. To achieve Magnet Recognition a hospital must demonstrate excellence in nursing leadership, clinical practice, innovation, and patient outcomes. MedStar Health now has five hospitals in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. region with Magnet® Recognition: MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
