We believe that the key to zero carbon is found in our resources above ground: the sun, soil, and seed. 🌱 That's why we're working to revitalize global agriculture with practical, plant-based alternatives to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels. Join us. Learn more at poet.com/sustainability.
Ever wonder what the bioethanol production process looks like? Check out this quick online tour! Learn more at poet.com/biofuel 🌱
Want to become more sustainable but don't know where to start? 👉🏻 1. Single-use products, particularly plastic ones, tend to end up in landfills and the ocean, causing harm to wildlife and the environment. You can prevent this by choosing to use reusable and eco-friendly alternatives such as a reusable water bottle, rechargeable batteries, and reusable grocery bags! 2. Avoid wasting paper by receiving email over letters and only printing documents if necessary. You can also ask shops and subscriptions to email you your receipts and letters instead of mailing them to you! 3. By using less energy, you can help reduce carbon emissions. You can save energy at home by switching off standby aplicances, turning your heating down, and hanging clothes to dry instead of using a drier! 4. If you don't use a product or wear a piece of clothing anymore, give it to a charity store or someone you know who would use it to help reduce waste! There are also plenty of ways to upcycle old clothes or use them for rags. 5. Biofuel blends like E10, E15, or E85 have a higher percentage of bioethanol, reducing the amount of petroleum gas mixed into the mixture. Plant-based biofuel can reduce carbon emissions by up to 46%. Choosing biofuel blends like E15 is better for your health and the environment. By making small changes to your daily routine, you can be a part of the solution to climate change. 🌱
For 2024, make a #RenewableResolution that will have a positive impact on the planet by fueling up with biofuels. Bioethanol is a clean, renewable biofuel made from plants grown in the USA. Biofuels also provide a renewable energy solution accessible to consumers so they can make a simple daily choice to help combat climate change. "Most people don’t realize just how much agriculture and bioprocessing touches their daily lives. There’s no question agriculture has been an integral part of our past and present — and I believe it has the potential to be an even bigger part of our future." —Jeff Broin, POET Founder and CEO Today, the bioethanol industry processes 40% of the U.S. corn crop each year, creating demand for farmers and driving the value of every bushel grown on their land. But we've only begun to scratch the surface of what bioprocessing can do, which is why it’s critical that we continue to seize new opportunities for ag-based products. Once hidden beneath green husks, the potential of the humble corn kernel can be redefined through an ingenious transformation: bioprocessing. 🌽 At POET, we're maximizing the value of every kernel. The starch produces bioethanol and purified alcohol, while the remaining fiber, protein, oil, and micronutrients are utilized to create a suite of plant-based bioproducts.
