Originally from Mexico City, Isabel Vallecillo worked as machine operator while getting her associates degree. After taking OSHA classes to work in safety in the construction industry, she gained experience in above-ground mines, fertilizer companies, refineries, wind farms, and a solar thermal power plant before joining her first SOLV Energy project in 2020. A career in solar energy is well-suited to individuals from a wide array of professional backgrounds, like Isabel. As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, it's our honor to highlight the diverse stories that make SOLV Energy a rewarding place to work.

We’ve planted pollinator habitat under and around the #olar panels, boosting biodiversity at our project site. Our beekeepers set up hives nearby, where we’re beginning to get our first taste of solar honey. See this sweet partnership in the video below! 🐝🍯

From the football field to the solar field, SOLV Energy's Devon Mackey M.P.M doesn't sleep on the chance to share his skills and experience with the next generation. In a feature by Clean Energy for America, Devon said his proudest accomplishment in clean energy is talking with middle and high school students about the job opportunities available in the solar industry. "It gives kids a different career path, one they may not know exists." We're proud to count Devon Mackey as one of the talented members of our SOLV Energy team and a shining 'face of clean energy' in the Southeast!

SOLV Energy was proud to support the GroundWork Renewables Cycling Team in this year's LoToJa, an amateur bike race through mountainous terrain in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. The GroundWork team not only conquered the course but also exceeded their fundraising goal. The $10,650 raised will fund three We Care Solar obstetric health clinics in Africa. These facilities will provide solar-powered lighting in regions without access to electricity to help improve the safety and quality of care of an estimated 16,000 mothers and newborns over the equipment's 10-year lifespan. Congratulations to the GroundWork cyclists!
