Southwest Airlines honored and flew our friend and hero, Kaya, home to rest after a lifetime of service and hard work. Kaya helped establish the PAWS Act, which comforts veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A loyal Southwest Customer, she flew with us over 250 times while lobbying for this act. The Crew and Customers onboard showed gratitude toward Kaya and her handler, Cole, a Marine Corps Veteran. While Kaya has been laid to rest, both her and Cole’s service to our country and veterans lives on. We’re honored to be a small piece of the duo’s legacy.

"I’ve met my best friends, led projects beyond my wildest dreams, and immersed myself in a Culture that can’t be matched." - Kiran R. Kiran, a former Intern and now a full-time Employee in the Marketing Department at Southwest Airlines, explains how her internship holds a special place in her heart. She met her best friends, traveled to multiple cities, and worked on many projects and events. Kiran knew after her two internships that she wanted to return. Often being asked, “Why Southwest?” Kiran can’t help but answer, “Why not?” She gives this answer because she connects People to what matters most in their professional and personal lives. Are you curious how 600,000+ aviation enthusiasts, 10,000+ aircraft, and 1,000+ show planes gather for a week filled with aviation celebration? You’ll find it at EAA AirVenture’s annual event in Oshkosh, Wis. Southwest Airlines brought one of our newest Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, dedicated to our Destination 225° Program, with Destination 225° Program participants, Leaders, and 40 Chicago-based students from AeroStar Avion Institute and Tuskegee NEXT onboard. Recently, Southwest Airlines said aloha to its newest specialty livery, Imua One. The aircraft is a tribute to our Employees and the communities across Hawaii that welcomed us with warm aloha. “Imua” is a rallying cry in the Hawaiian language that translates to an urging forward, and it underscores one of our Values at Southwest—Teamwork. This livery features eight meaningful elements representing Hawaiian culture and aligning with our Company Values. • Ohana (Family): Root in relationships. • Honu (Turtle): Move with perseverance. • Aina (Land): Find common ground. • Ama (Support): Connect to strengthen and balance. • Hoku (Star): Guide with purpose. • Kai (Ocean): Harness good energy. • Lokahi (Unity): Succeed with Teamwork. • Imua (Forward): Go forward with strength, courage, and a strong spirit. Gabriel faces several congenital challenges resulting in countless surgeries, hospital stays, and doctor visits. As Gabriel grows up, Jarrod is also learning how they can succeed through neurodiversity.
