Captain Ruben served as a Pilot for nearly 31 years at Southwest Airlines. Throughout his inspiring career, he shared his passion with many young aviators through the Adopt-A-Pilot program and on his trips. He even mentored his family to pursue a career in the skies! His brother, cousin, and—most recently—his son, First Officer Ruben, all work at Southwest. Captain Ruben shared many flights with his family before retirement, including his last flight from Omaha, Neb., to Chicago (Midway) with his son serving in the right-hand seat as his First Officer.
