One year ago today, Texoma Medical Center broke ground on a construction project to expand its emergency department and add a new bed tower. The first floor expansion will double the size of the existing emergency department, adding 24 new patient beds, two additional trauma rooms, a 16-bed chest pain unit, plus dedicated imaging suites. The remaining floors will provide an additional 20 intensive care unit rooms, 20 medical/surgical beds, 12 private rooms for a neonatal intensive care unit (a new service for the hospital) and space for future hospital growth. The expansion is on track to open in early 2018!
