VNSNY's Partners in Care is the first licensed home care services agency in New York State to be approved to train home health aides online, using a first-of-its-kind hybrid training program.

Last month we celebrated VNSNY's Partners in Care home health aides with our annual Service Awards program and 800 staff members. One of the night’s highlights was an inspiring video spotlighting Partners in Care home health aides and their passion for the important work they do.

“When we talk about hospice topics, many patients and families think we are talking about dying. They think there’s no way to stop that, there’s no way to have a life. But five to six years ago, we started the Asian hospice campaign. We try to educate the whole Asian community--educating doctors on how to treat patients, as well as educating nurses and hospitals. What we’re trying to do is give them a better quality of life at the end of life.” -Orlando Tsang, Partnership Account Manager.

A number of home health aides have been with VNSNY's Partners in Care for nearly four decades, going back to when it became part of VNSNY in 1983. Geraldine Singleton, who joined Partners in Care in 1979 and is now retired, was one of VNSNY’s longest-serving aides. Managed Healthcare Executive featured Ann Mary Ferrie, Director of Public Policy and Strategy at VNSNY in its prestigious list of13 Emerging Health Leaders. Ann Mary describes her role as working "with industry stakeholders within New York state and beyond to advocate for policy changes backed by VNSNY's experience as an in-home healthcare provider and payer." She also comments on VNSNY setting up clinics to provide COVID-19 vaccination clinics, not only for frontline staff, but also providing vaccinations for homebound residents, prioritizing communities with low vaccination rates.
