Last Wednesday, as part of our Nurses Week Celebration, a recognition event was held for all of the nurses who work in the Human Resources, Recruitment and Staffing, Benefits, Health Services, and Compliance areas of VNSNY and Partners in Care. Leading the accolades for this distinguished group of nurses, were senior leaders from the respective departments. Thank you for all that you do!

Ten VNSNY RNs are enrolled in the April 2019 cohort of the Population Care Coordinator Program offered through Duke University School of Nursing. The two-day orientation covered areas of Health Behavior and Motivational Interviewing, Population Care Coordination in the Changing Health System, Evidence-Based Practice, and the role of PCCP strategies at VNSNY. Presenters included faculty from the School of Nursing, Al Cardillo, Executive Vice President of the Home Care Association of New York State, and key members of the VNSNY Population Health and College Relations Departments. This is VNSNY's fourteenth cohort to participate in the thirteen-week comprehensive online program.

Yael Reich, Clinical Support Manager-Diabetes, Home Care accepts the Mills Living Legend Award from Marki Flannery, VNSNY President and CEO. This award honors a VNSNY employee who, through steadfast focus and effort, has made notable contributions to VNSNY’s services, policies, practices, initiatives, or research — contributions that, in turn, have helped to promote our people, mission, and strategic direction. These achievements, accomplished over at least a decade, establish the employee as a VNSNY living legend in the tradition of Phyllis Mills, a legendary VNSNY Board member.

Kathy Pearson, Ph.D. was the featured speaker at VNSNY’s LEAD (Leadership Exploration and Development) lecture series on March 13th at our midtown Manhattan offices. Her dynamic presentation was delivered to an audience of VNSNYs senior leaders on the topic of strategic planning and implementation with a focus on clarity, collaboration, and strategic adaptability. The session kicked-off with remarks from VNSNY’s David Rosales, EVP and Chief Strategy Officer, and included group discussions with feedback on key topics. Dr. Pearson is President and Founder of Enterprise Learning Solutions and Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. An award-winning educator, she works extensively with mid- to senior level executives on topics including decision making, leading under uncertainty and strategic execution.
